Open Heavens Daily Devotional 17th October 2026 - Shielded by His Fire

Core Message & Summary For Saturday's Edition of The Open Heavens Daily Devotional

• Transformation by Fire: When fire touches an object, it transforms that object into itself (such as wood becoming firewood). Similarly, children of God who belong to the Consuming Fire are automatically shielded by His divine fire.
• A Wall of Protection: According to Zechariah 2:5, God acts as a wall of fire around His people. In the Exodus reading, the pillar of cloud and fire acted as light and protection for Israel while serving as a barrier and terror to the Egyptian army.
• Breaking Bondage: The message highlights how God's fire destroys chains. Just as the fire of God burned the ropes binding Samson before he defeated his enemies (Judges 15:14–15), God’s fire deals with forces trying to put believers in bondage.
• Deliverance in the Furnace: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego (Daniel 3) were protected inside the fiery furnace—the fire only burned their bonds while leaving them completely unharmed.
• Uprooting What Does Not Belong: The Consuming Fire purges and removes anything God has not planted in a believer's body or life.
• Condition for Protection: To enjoy this shield, a person must genuinely belong to God’s camp through salvation
